Snippety bit!

I warned you.

Now no joy but lacks salt
that is not dashed with pain
And weariness and fault;
I crave the stain

Of Tears, the aftermark
Of almost too much love

Methos could see the untroubled acceptance in MacLeod's eyes. The look promised no regrets, no recriminations. He didn't trust it and he regretted giving in to the impulse to follow him here.

There was still too much unsaid between them, too much that MacLeod didn't know about Immortality and the things a man would do in 5000 years.

"Four hundred years is not a long time, Highlander," he warned. "Not when you compare it to a few thousand years."

Duncan frowned. "What are you talking about?"

"Nothing." He shook his head slightly. "I just wanted to make certain you remembered that."

"I'll remember it."

"See that you do." His arms tightened around the other man's waist. Whatever the future brought, nothing would change what happened next. He would enjoy this time while the sun was shining and his lover smiled upon him, ignoring the shadows he knew were gathering in the distance.

See? That's why we still want you writing HL. That's a *good* snippet. A really good one. Find more of them and share, okay?

I'm with Dail, man. What the world needs now is not love sweet love so much as for AnneZo to write more HL.

You know I'm right there with them, right? I always loved your Highlander. You and I were the Methos grrrls of the three of us.

I'd read your snippet over someone else's 3000 words any day.

Now that's what I'm talking about. *vbg*

Let the fawning and the outpouring of (unearned) love continue!
